Memories from Alumni

MemoriesHave noted that many things taught in main lessons that seemed irrelevant at the time have gained more meaning throughout my life. (sic)

Great times.  Shepherd’s plays, throwing lemons onto the watties building, swimming in the pool, the old upper school building with its fire escape, sneaking over to Scannell’s, plums at the woodwork room nearly ripe in December, plays.

A fantastic time with long lasting memories and friendships.

A great education that still impacts on the way I live today.

Such a great time made awesome friends who I’m still in touch with today.  Would have had nowhere near the same experience at any other school.  I loved the opportunities we got at Steiner!

The school became my home as I was there from the age of 6-18.

Warm, challenging (due to the expectations to grow and develop on many levels), a place where I learned to love learning again.

BlackboardI had such wonderful teachers.

Lots of good memories – all the festivals, plays, the old boarding house with its ghosts.  Mr. Shaw our class teacher – he read ‘The Grey Gentlemen’ to us.

There were always people available to help with absolutely any issues at all.

3 greatest years of my school-life…formative, inspiring and a turning point in my life.  Social life was exceptional, teachers were enthusiastic and engaging.

It is amazing how well ex-pupils of the school have done.
