2010 Queenswood and Steiner Reunion, Queen’s Birthday WeekendFriday 4 – Sunday 6 June, 2010 Queenswood School Reunion – 2010 The school opened around 1921 in Nelson Street, Hastings, as a small, private, primary school. It was founded as a Rudolf Steiner School in 1950 to officially become Queenswood Rudolf Steiner School a few years later.
The Queenswood day of reunion, activity and conviviality will be Friday 4 June. To make the Reunion a success, we would like to find as many Queenswood pupils from prior to 1950 as we possible can. We would also like to find pupils from the period when the school was known as Queenswood Rudolf Steiner School. Both of these groups we would like to encourage to attend our 2010 reunion. Can you help us please? If you can answer ‘Yes’ to any of these three questions, please send the details to me and I’ll follow them up. Thank you. There are, however, certain details that we would ideally like to know; Could you please look in the chocolate boxes (Continental?) stacked in the shed, under the bed or in the back cupboard to see if you still have any pictures / snaps / photos from your Queenswood days. You don’t happen to have any items of clothing from that era by any slim chance? We would love to have those sent to us. That would be so special! We look forward to hearing from you, reading about your early school days and to finding as many foundation pupils as we can. Thank you in anticipation of your help. Some of you will have difficulty believing that a decade has past since the 50th celebrations! Technically of course it won't happen until 2010, however the preparation needed to celebrate 60 years of Steiner School life here in Hawke’s Bay, does need to get underway now. The Taikura Rudolf Steiner School Diamond Jubilee celebrations will be from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 June, 2010. Early this year we wrote to Alunmi who left school between 2000 and 2008. Receiving their contact details and associated personal information has been a really exciting exercise. In all honesty though, it is the thoughts and memories of school life that I read first. These are the heart and soul of who we are and what our past pupils have become. Please help us find more of our alumni and encourage them to supply the same information as listed in the Queenswood School section. Many thanks. For further Information:

From what the school can glean, the Queenswood pupils have never held a ‘reunion’ specifically for their own get-together. So, as part of our school Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2010, it is intended to hold a Queenswood Reunion.
