Introduction

“The festivals are nodal points of the year which unite us with the Spirit of the Universe”

Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925)

May Pole Dancing at Spring Festival

To provide nourishment for the soul, the seasonal and Christian festivals are celebrated within our school.  These build upon the daily and weekly rhythms and are experienced with reverence, through song and story, drama and verse, colour and movement.  Easter, Whitsun and Advent are observed by the teachers and students within the school, while Harvest, Midwinter, Spring and the Carol Evening are celebrated with the wider community.

Sunlight is flooding
The widths of space
The song of the birds echoes
Through the realms of the air
The blessing of plants sprouts
From the being of earth
And human souls lift themselves
In feelings of thankfulness
To the Spirits of the World
- Rudolf Steiner (1861 – 1925)
